Prefco keep continuing research and development on fire dampers, smoke dampers, fire and smoke exhaust dampers, smoke barrier, and equipment within heating- ventilation-air conditioning system and role as a key player in the fire and safety industry.
Prefco keep seeking researches and develops domestic heating- ventilation-air conditioning system product to integrate with different industrial system, successfully In Taiwan's semiconductor and IT related industries, we have more than 50% of market share in the fire & safety equipment supplying.
In order to get closer to the international market, catching different international trends and designs, therefore we corporate with local construction company in different regions to expand international market, and thus learning the experience from different market.
In 1996
The whole series of fire and smoke dampers certified by Industrial Technology Research Institute under UL555 / UL555S standard test and accomplish actuator 5000 times cycling test, Prefco-JohnsonTech became the first manufacturer of fire and smoke dampers in Taiwan that independently developed damper actuator.
Regarding to the revision of Article 189 of fire-fighting equipment setting standards in Taiwan, the first set of hidden smoke barriers that can be opened and retracted automatically and manually has been developed in Taiwan. The construction projects include various field industry, semiconductor, IT related industries, hospitals, hospitalities, shopping malls etc.; smoke barriers project marks are exceeds 100,000M.
In 1997
Certified by the Dutch DNV ship inspection company and qualified ISO9002 certification.
Cooperated with PREFCO, a damper brand/manufacturer from US, officially authorized the manufacture of fire dampers and fire and smoke exhaust dampers that achieve UL555 / UL555S CLASS I; and also passed BS standard 4 hours fire rating test. The fire and smoke damper and air conditioner related equipment products are complied with the AMCA 500 standard damper manufacturing method. Prefco was first manufacturer qualified on ISO9002 in Taiwan.
In 1999
Series products apply for AMCA500 test certification. In 2000, PREFCO US took the lead in the field to passed UL555S standard; additionally, certified 350 degree F high temperature dynamic test standard.
In 2002
UL headquarters in the United States assigned senior engineer Mr. Howard J. Gruszynski to conduct process factory testing in Taiwan, and Prefco-JohnsonTech passed the UL standard certification program, becoming the first UL certified damper manufacturer in Asia, also establish new headquarter office in New Taipei City to start expansion international market.
In 2003
The Fire & Smoke Damper series product certified the national standard of fire protection equipment of the People's Republic of China and became the first factory to pass the certification of GB15930, GB15931, UL555, UL555S, ISO 10294, BS476-20, and also passed the 400 degree C of GB2110-3 2HR is the highest test level in China.
In 2004
Cooperate with of Belgian brand PROMAT fire protection products and acquired the approval of the fire-proof air duct of the new construction method from the Fire Department in Ministry of the Interior.
In 2005
The first company to qualify the inspection and assessment standard of the Taiwan Construction Center of the Construction Department in accordance with the ISO 10294 standard.
In 2006
Acquire affirmation in the fire protection category of the Golden Stone Award for Architecture in Taiwan.
In 2007
Our HEAVY DUTY DAMPER passed the experiment of the performance requirements and the class I leakage test under 2kPa pressure in the CNLA laboratory. Prefco became the first domestic manufacturer to qualify the production capability; in the meantime, Prefco acquire the contract for Snow Mountain Tunnel Project.
In 2008
Project mark: Snow Mountain Tunnel (Taiwan longest tunnel in present), Prefco is qualified for the fire & smoke damper equipment supplier, as well as the heavy-duty control damper for the ventilation shaft.
In 2009
Project Mark: 4th Taiwan Nuclear Power Planet – Lungmen station, including volume damper and fire/ smoke damper equipment supplying.
In 2010
Project Mark: Chiang Kai-shek International Airport MRT Line (including station build and underground tunnel project).

Research and development on curtain type fire door certified CNS14803-60A standard and China National Standard GB fire-resistant certification.

Officially become an AMCA member.
In 2013
In March, a milestone for JohsonTech Air Control that signed the contract with Metal Industries, officially acquire the 70-year-old global brand distribution “Prefco”, as well as the production equipment and UL file ownership and patent rights of all products in the North Carolina production base, Prefco-JohnsonTech Air Control Inc. becoming the largest UL certified damper manufacturer in Asia.
In 2017
Established NAFFCO-PREF-C0 brand with NAFFCO, the largest fire protection company in Dubai
In 2018
Established Hengye Construction and Development Co., Ltd., start diversification development in the field.
In 2019
In January, Apogee Power lnc., USA and Prefco-JohnsonTech Air Control Inc. joint venture to establish Prefco Green Energy Technology Co., Ltd.
In 2019
In October, Prefco-JohnsonTech Air Control Inc. establish Qiaofeng brand in Taiwan to continuing impact on HVAC industry in domestic market.
In 2022
In June, Prefco-JohnsonTech Air Control Group expanded its production capability and established Prefco Green Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (the second factory) located in Sanchong dist., New Taipei City.
